Sabres forward Jeff Skinner misses practice with upper-body injury

Sabres coach Don Granato provided an update on the team's top winger after practice on Wednesday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Sabres announced on Wednesday that forward Jeff Skinner missed practice with a upper-body injury.

Head Coach Don Granato said that he doesn't expect Skinner to be out for long, but the team won't know more until the imaging results come back.

"We won’t know until we get the imaging and then the final doctors look at it and assess it,” Granato said. “It doesn’t look like it’s going to be long – that’s the hope, and we can only stick to that right now.”

Skinner skated roughly 16 minutes during the team's loss against the Seattle Kraken Tuesday night.

Granato also mentioned that Sabres captain Kyle Okposo and forward Victor Olofsson both "were good today and today was a big day for them,” as they near their return.

Buffalo hosts Ottawa next Thursday at 7 p.m. for their second of six consecutive home games.
