Sabres' Dahlin picked for his 3rd consecutive NHL All-Star Game

Another 12 players will be picked through a fan vote that runs through Jan. 11.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — For the third straight season, Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be part of the NHL All-Star Game.

The league on Thursday evening announced the first 32 players who will be part of the game on Feb. 3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Another 12 players (eight skaters and four goalies) will be picked through a fan vote that runs through Jan. 11.

Entering Thursday night's game at Montreal, Dahlin was tied for the lead among all NHL defensemen with 10 goals, and he was tied for ninth with 29 points. The 23-year-old averaging 25 minutes, 4 seconds of ice time per game, a number that ranks eighth among all players.

Dahlin joins Rick Martin, Alexander Mogilny, Dominik Hasek, and Jack Eichel as Sabres who have been selected to play in three consecutive all-star games.
