Sabres fans flock to watch party to 'Czech' out season opener overseas

Seneca One hosted a free watch party for fans looking to cheer their team on while overseas.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Just a few blocks from KeyBank Center, Seneca One hosted a Buffalo Sabres watch party to celebrate the start of the season.

Fans of all ages were welcome to stop by the free event. Giving them a chance to play games or spin a wheel and earn some special Sabres gear.

And in addition to the fun and games, fans were encouraged to take advantage of the food hall and drink specials while they sat and cheered their team on.

The special day brought fans in from miles away.

"It's the opener so there's a lot of excitement and we drove all the way from Fairport, almost 90 miles away to be here so we're really looking forward to the season," Sabres fan John Panko said.

The room was filled with optimism, as fans welcomed a familiar face back to Buffalo, along with some new guys as well.  

"I'm excited about Lindy Ruff coaching the team. He's back in Buffalo and I think we're gonna have a real gritty team this year, said Sabres Fan 

Fans are welcome to watch part two of the Global Series at KeyBank Center tomorrow at 10 am.
