ITHACA, N.Y. — A Cornell University alumna is making history, or should we say HERstory, in the professional hockey world.

Jessica Campbell, who gradated from Cornell in 2014, made her debut on Tuesday night as the first ever female assistant coach for an NHL team.

In an article published by Cornell's Athletics Department in July, they had shared the exciting news that one of their own was making her mark in the NHL. In their article they wrote, "Jessica Campbell '14, continues her journey of trail-blazing for women and girls. Following a strong two-year run with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Campbell has been named an assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken, making her the first ever female assistant coach in NHL history."
