ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills defensive end Von Miller returned to practice on Wednesday after serving a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
Miller has actually been back in the building for meetings the last two weeks but has now returned to the practice field at One Bills Drive.
The Bills veteran edge rusher was serving a four-game suspension after violating the National Football League's personal conduct policy, which is believed to be related to Miller's arrest last year in Texas.
Miller missed the Bills' loss to the Texans along with the three most recent games and wins against the Jets, Titans, and Seahawks.
Now as he prepares to return for the second half of the Bills season, Miller is approaching this week with an optimistic mindset looking to build off his three sack start to the season.
"I'm in a really good spot," Miller said. "Got nine games left and once you have something taken away from you, whether it's football stuff, NFL stuff, league stuff, like what happened over the last month or whatever, it's an injury, you have a new appreciation for the sport. Year 14, 35 years old, I'm just grateful to be here."
"I got huge belief in my game and what I can do and what I can contribute to this team and that's where I'm putting all my focus," Miller said. "Coming in, we got a 6-2 team midway through the season. There's really nothing negative on my side. I'm coming into a really good team."
Miller reflected on what he considered to be the silver lining of a tough situation after practice as well.
"I was able to get a little bit more healthier," Miller said. "I was able to get some work on my knee and rest and recover from my knee. I was already in a good spot when I left, but just to be able to push it even more and put it in to an even better spot. I'm coming in with really, really fresh legs at 35 years old."
The 14-year NFL veteran did not go into any further detail on the case and suspension specifically but made sure to reiterate several times just how happy he is to have it all behind him and carry on business as usual with his teammates for the first time since September.
Miller added that he feels ready to go for the team's game on Sunday against the Dolphins of course if the Bills let him return to the lineup.
For now, the Bills will continue their preparation to host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Highmark Stadium with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
