ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Bills will once again be without two of their top defensive starters on Monday night when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars for the team's first home primetime game of the season.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced on Wednesday afternoon that both linebacker Terrel Bernard and cornerback Taron Johnson have been ruled out for Monday night's game.

Johnson suffered a forearm injury early in the Bills' week one win over the Arizona Cardinals while Bernard left early in last week's divisional matchup against Miami with a pectoral injury.

McDermott did not give any further updates on a timeline to return and added that they will still take the process "one day at a time."

The Bills head coach did confirm that he anticipates linebacker Baylon Spector to start in place of Bernard on Monday night against the Jaguars.

“It's an opportunity for Baylon and Dorian to work together like they did in the back half of the game or really the majority of the game the other night," McDermott said. "So, another opportunity for someone to step up. They just gotta go in and be themselves and we’ll play well around them. They did a nice job last week but they are focused on this week and again today's practice and just really learning the game plan for this week here.”

The 2-0 Bills will host the 0-2 Jacksonville Jaguars for a Monday night football clash in their first home primetime game of the season. Kickoff for this matchup is set for 7:30 p.m.
