INDIANAPOLIS — There was a good chance, even before the season began, that Josh Allen would tie or surpass a Hall of Famer on the Buffalo Bills' team rushing charts.
That moment happened on Sunday in Indianapolis, when Allen tied O.J. Simpson with 57 touchdown runs, tied for second all-time in team history. Thurman Thomas is No. 1 with 65 touchdowns on the ground.
The Bills beat the Colts 30-20.
Touchdown run No. 57 came with 2 minutes, 14 seconds left before halftime, when Allen scored from 13 yards out. That run capped an eight-play, 70-yard drive that consumed 4:18 and have Buffalo a 17-13 lead.
Following Thomas (1988-99), Simpson (1969-77), and Allen (2018-present) for all-time touchdown runs in team history are Cookie Gilchrist (31, from 1962-64), Fred Jackson (30, from 2007-14), and Wray Carlton (29, 1960-67).
