ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills held their first practice of the week on Wednesday ahead of their Week 9, Sunday Night Football matchup in Cincinnati against the Bengals.
Although all eyes seemed to be on the two new Buffalo players, Leonard Fournette and Rasul Douglas, that quickly changed as Josh Allen did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. He was officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
Allen has been dealing with a right shoulder injury that dates back to Week 6 during a game against the New York Giants.
In a news conference on Wednesday, Allen confirmed to 2 On Your Side that he did not partake much in practice on Wednesday, and that anything he did was on a limited basis.
“Didn’t do too much today. Just taking it easy,” Allen said. “Just making sure that I’m putting myself in the best position for Sunday, and making sure that I’m not sore.”
When asked where he stands with the current shoulder situation, Allen said, “We’re just trying to stay on top of it and get ahead of it while we can. … I hate not practicing. I hate not being involved in what we’re doing. … This is probably what’s best and again just putting myself in the best situation to make sure I’m ready to go for tomorrow and Sunday.”
Allen hinted that he may return to Thursday’s practice, but for now there is no official word on that.
The Bills last played the Bengals during the playoffs last season, as Cincinnati eliminated Buffalo after defeating them by a score of 27-10 in an AFC Divisional matchup back in January at Highmark Stadium.
