PHILADELPHIA — When it rains it pours.
That expression has been true for the Buffalo Bills in a number of ways this season.
The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles added to it.
Jalen Hurts took matters into his own hands late in overtime, running the ball in for a 12-yard touchdown to help seal the deal and put Philadelphia over the Bills 37-34.
The Bills had the first possession of overtime but only managed to put up a field goal, which gave the Eagles the ball for a shot to end the game.
Josh Allen finished the game with 339 yards, going 29 of 51 on passes and earning an 82.1 overall rating. He also had an interception for the eighth straight game this season.
Philadelphia had just enough time at the end of the fourth quarter to take it 34 yards down the field, setting up Jake Elliott for a 59-yard field goal to tie the game at 31 a piece and send it to overtime.
Buffalo marching down the field now and eating up plenty of time off the clock while doing so. Allen finally puts it right in the hands of Gabe Davis, as the Bills take the lead 31-28 with 1:52 remaining in regulation.
Hurts hit Olamide Zaccheaus on an improbable 3rd and 15 play for a 29-yard touchdown to give the Eagles a 28-24 in the 4th quarter.
The play followed a James Bradberry interception of a short Josh Allen pass that was intended for Stefon Diggs.
Allen's 16-yard TD run to cap a 70-yard drive as the Bills re-took a 10-point lead at 24-14.
Hurts drove the Eagles 62-yards and hit A.J. Brown for a 3-yard TD pass to cut the Buffalo lead to 17-14 after Tyler Bass had missed a 48-yard field goal attempt wide right.
The Bills turned a pair of Eagles turnovers into 14 second-quarter points and took a 17-7 lead at halftime.
Greg Rousseau recovered a Hurts fumble resulting in a 13-yard TD pass from Allen to Stefon Diggs.
Leonard Floyd deflected a Hurts pass that was picked off by linebacker Terrel Bernard. Four plays and 29 yards later, Allen ran it in from 9 yards out.
The Bills could have been even further one-yard were it not for the fact they were their own worst enemies early in the game. the Eagles Jalen Carter partially blocked a Tyler Bass field goal attempt in the second quarter. Buffalo was penalized six times for 37 yards in the first quarter. Hurts capped a 10-play 73-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run to give Philadelphia a 7-0 lead.
Bills running back James Cook dropped what would have been a touchdown pass in the first. Allen hit him in stride down the left sideline after he had beaten the coverage and the ball slipped through his hands.
Buffalo is 2-6 on one-possession games this season and has lost four out of their five away games.
