MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Buffalo Bills dominated the Miami Dolphins in Thursday's 31-10 win, but a former University at Buffalo cornerback made history in the standout win.

Ja'Marcus Ingram became the first UB football player to have two interceptions in an NFL game, according to Associate AD for Communications at UB, Jon Fuller.

Ingram said his performance is a result of his preparation.

"My mindset every week and every day coming in preparing and telling myself that I'll be in position to make plays," he said.

The first interception came on Miami's first drive in the first quarter. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was looking for wide receiver Grant DuBose over the middle. The throw bounced off DuBose shoulder pad and into the hands of Ingram. His return set up the Bills offense for their first score of the game.

In the third quarter, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was pressured by the Bills pass rush. As he tried to throw the ball out of bounds, Ingram picked off the ball with a clear path to the endzone for a pick-six. Ingram's play was the last score for both teams as he pushed the Bills to 31 points.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Ingram's performance is due to his work ethic.

"These guys work hard, good things happen when you work hard and sometimes the ball finds you like that," he said.

According to the Bills, Ingram was the first player with two road interceptions since Jordan Poyer's 2022 week 4 performance against the Baltimore Ravens.

Ingram signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2022. This was only his seventh career game, according to Pro Football Reference.
