ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — There was a deflection, a gasp, an acrobatic catch, and then applause from Bills fans late in the second quarter.
That's when Josh Allen's second-and-goal pass across the middle was deflected high into the air. But then somehow, in the back of the end zone, Trent Sherfield tracked it and tapped his toes for a Bills touchdown.
With the extra point that followed, Buffalo knotted the score at 7 against the Dolphins in Miami.
The touchdown provided some relief to the Bills, whose first two drives spanned 18 plays, traveled 133 yards and consumed more than 9 minutes off the block before ending with Allen interceptions.
