LOS ANGELES RAMS AT BUFFALO BILLS - Bills Stadium - Orchard Park, NY
FIRST QUARTER
-Bills offense goes three and out on the first series. Devin Singletary gained a yard on first down, and Allen threw a pair of incomplete passes after that including overthrowing John Brown on a deep ball on third down.
-Rams move the ball well on their opening drive with a good mix of run and pass. Bills second round draft pick AJ Epenesa did pick up his first career sack. The drive eventually stalled and Rams kicker Samuel Sloman was wide left on a 53-yard FG attempt.
-The Bills respond with an 11-play 57-yard scoring drive that featured Devin Singletary with gains of 16 and 13-yards. Buffalo had trouble finishing the drive before Allen connected with Lee Smith on 4th and goal from a yard out putting the Bills up 7-0.
SECOND QUARTER
-Bills CB Levi Wallace comes up with an interception. A big play for Wallace after struggling last week at Miami. Buffalo with a drive start on its own 34-yard line.
-The Bills are able to take advantage as Allen puts together a 7-play 66-yard scoring drive. Allen connected with rookie receiver Gabe Davis on consecutive gains of 39 and 9-yards. Allen ran three consecutive times eventually punching it in from a yard out to finish the drive giving the Bills a 14-0 lead.
-The Rams are finally able to get on the board with a 13-play 63-yard drive with the Buffalo defense holding them to a 30-yard FG from Samuel Sloan. Bills with a 14-3 lead with 3:09 left in the half.
-The Bills continue to put together sustained drives and Allen continues to make great use of the array of weapons he has at his disposal. This time Bufflalo goes 75-yards in eight plays. Allen caps it finding a wide open Tyler Kroft for a three yard TD and a 21-3 lead.
THIRD QUARTER
-The Bills defense forces a punt on the Rams first possession of the half. Coverage over the middle of the field is vastly better with the return of linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano.
-The Bills respond with a 7-play 52-yard drive finding the end zone again. A key play was a screen to Devin Singletary who took off down the left sideline for a gain of 34. Allen hit Stefon Diggs for a four yard TD to extend the Buffalo lead to 28-3.
-The Rams find the end zone for the first time. Jared Goff with a one-yard run to cap an eight play 75-yard drive to cut the Buffalo lead to 28-10.
-Allen looks downfield for Tyler Kroft, who is called for offensive pass interference and after making an apparent catch, fights with Rams DB John Johnson who takes possession. In a disputed play, it's ruled an interception.
-The Rams offense shows quick strike capability going 59-yards in three plays with Goff finding former Bill Robert Woods for a 25-yard TD to cut the Buffalo lead to 28-17 late in the quarter.
-The Bills offense goes three and out as Allen is sacked on 3rd and 3. A terrific 72-yard punt by Corey Bojorquez pins the Rams back at their own three yard line.
FOURTH QUARTER
-The momentum of the game continues to shift as the Rams drive 97-yards in ten plays with Goff connecting with Cooper Kupp for a 16-yard TD. They convert the two to Tyler Higbee and trail Buffalo 28-25.
-Key moment comes on third and long as Allen is sacked by Aaron Donald who also forces a fumble. Donald is able to recover and after an unsportsmanlike on Allen, the Rams start the drive at the Buffalo 37.
-Six plays later the Rams are in the end zone and in the lead. Darrell Henderson caps the short drive with a one-yard run and the Rams lead 32-28 with less than 5:00 left in the game.
-The Bills put together an 11-play 75-yard drive over 4:15 converting a 3rd and 22 in the process and benefitting from a very questionable pass interference call with Allen hitting Tyler Kroft for a 3-yard touchdown to win the game.
Bills win 35-32.
