ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills announced on Monday that the team is signing cornerback Taron Johnson to a three-year extension, good through 2027.
The extension will make him the highest-paid nickel back in the league, according to the Bills.
According to ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter, it's a $31 million contract extension.
A former fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Johnson will be entering his seventh season in the league in 2024.
He currently is coming off one of his his best seasons statistically, with 98 total tackles, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and eight passes defended.
Johnson played the second-most snaps of any Bills defender last season, earning an 80.4 PFF grade and allowing 8.2 yards per route on average.
