ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills script Sunday afternoon similar to so many this season.
First-half struggles followed by a second-half surge.
Once again, that surge led to victory, with the Bills defeating the Dolphins 30-27 following a 61-yard field goal by Tyler Bass with five seconds to play in regulation.
They key play in the first half was a Keon Coleman drop near the goal line that might've been a touchdown, but instead was picked out of the air by Miami's Jalen Ramsey for the interception.
The Dolphins proceeded to have a 14-play, 97-yard drive that took 8 minutes, 21 seconds for the only touchdown of the first half.
The Bills responded with two touchdowns in the third quarter to take the lead. Miami tied the game early in the fourth quarter at 20, then late in the game at 27.
Josh Allen and Co. respond each time, ultimately winning on Bass' 61-yard boot. That capped a nine-play, 27-yard drive that took 1:33 off the clock. Bass also kicked field goals of 40 and 49 yards, but he also missed a point-after try, which led to a 2-point conversion that the Bills converted later in the game.
Allen completed 25 of 39 passes for 235 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The touchdowns covered 1 yard to Mack Hollins, 63 yards to Ray Davis, and 2 yards to Quintin Morris.
James Cook led the Bills on the ground with 10 carries for 44 yards. He added five receptions for 25 yards.
The Bills are back on the road next weekend to face the Indianapolis Colts.
