ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Bills offense has been at its best this season when it has had success running the football.
Sunday was no different as Buffalo took down the Dallas Cowboys 31-10 at Highmark Stadium.
James Cook was the best player on the field by far.
He ran for 179 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. He caught two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown through the air as well. He continues to emerge as a dominant multi-purpose threat, especially since Joe Brady took over calling the offense four games ago.
Head coach Sean McDermott continuously preaches complimentary football, and the defense did that in a big way in this game.
The Bill's head coach, who serves in a dual role as defensive coordinator as well, may have called his best game to date, in limiting the league's top-scoring offense which had been averaging more than 40 points per game over the last five, to just 10 points.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was 21 of 34 passing for 134 yards and one interception. The Bills sacked him three times for 28 times.
The Cowboys managed just 195 total yards.
The Bills took control of the game in the first half with Josh Allen leading three touchdown drives.
Latavius Murray capped the opening drive of the game with a 2-yard touchdown run. Allen hit James Cook for an 18-yard touchdown to cap an 86-yard scoring drive early in the second quarter. Allen ran it in from a yard out to give Buffalo a 21-3 halftime lead.
