Amari Cooper settles in as Bills prepare for Seahawks

Amari Cooper is finally settling in with the Bills after making his debut at Highmark Stadium. The team will face the Seahawks on Sunday in Seattle.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — To say that last week was a whirlwind for the Bills' newest receiver, Amari Cooper, would certainly be an understatement.

After all, Cooper drove to Buffalo from Cleveland on Tuesday night with just four days to learn a brand new playbook and prepare to make his Bills debut on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Cooper finished the team's Week 7 matchup with four catches for 66 yards and one touchdown. Many are now wondering what he could do with an entire week of preparation with the team and staff at One Bills Drive.

Quarterback Josh Allen said on Wednesday that as Cooper continues to settle in with his new team, he is mainly focused on spending as much time as possible with his new target.

"Talking about little nuances in our game plan," Allen said. "Things that I like to see and visa versa. So, trying to get on the same page, but again, his professionalism is through the roof. He's always working on his craft. He's easy to talk to about what he likes, and I'm excited to see what we can do."

A few other teammates also gave a new perspective to Cooper's situation of getting traded midseason.

"I think it's kind of the same thing with the injury stuff," Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir said. "When you get here and as the weeks go on, as the days go on, you learn more. He's putting in the extra work, making sure that he learns what he needs to learn. He's definitely been putting in the time and as the days go on it's showing for sure."

Added Bills cornerback Taron Johnson: "It takes time. I mean this is, what did you say? His third practice? His third practice out there, so it takes time. I'm in no rush to see something crazy or anything like that. I mean, he's settling in, getting to know his teammates, and he's going to help us so much."

Cooper and the rest of the Bills now look to face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m.
