Amari Cooper is building a rapport with Josh Allen, getting more comfortable in Bills offense

The Bills' newest wide receiver is settling during his first full week with the team, working toward being "ready for an increased role."

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — With a game under his belt and now in his first full week of practice with the Buffalo Bills, Amari Cooper is starting to feel more comfortable in Orchard Park.

"I have a better understanding of what we're trying to do offensively," Cooper said. "How we're trying to attack, things of that nature, so definitely more comfortable."

Cooper has been in Western New York for just over a week since coming over in a trade from Cleveland.

Since then the wide receiver has spent plenty of time putting in extra work to get up to speed.

"Obviously I would have to do a little bit more after practice, before practice in terms of just getting the game plan down because these guys have been doing that since camp and everything like that," Cooper said. "I'm only a little more than a week in, so definitely have to spend time so that's what I've been doing for sure."

We got a glimpse of what the Josh Allen-Amari Cooper duo can be when the two connected on four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in Cooper's Bills debut against the Titans.

Both players are excited about where the partnership can go from there especially as they continue to get more familiar with each other.

"Just trying to get as much time with him as possible, talking about little nuances in our game plan," Allen said. "His professionalism is through the roof. He's always working on his craft. He's easy to talk to about what he likes, and I'm excited to see what we can do."

"Every quarterback has their own nuances to the way they play the games so you kind of have to adapt to that," Cooper said. "They kind of have to adapt to you, the way you run routes, your timing and everything which is generally created during the preseason and throughout the course of the season. So, in a way, we're kind of playing catchup."

The catching up is in fact happening according to Cooper.

"Some natural chemistry would be nice and I do kind of feel some natural chemistry," Cooper said.

Now heading into this Sunday's game in Seattle with an actual full week of practice behind him, Cooper is ready to start taking on a larger role in this Bills offense.

"I think that's why they traded for me," Cooper said. "Definitely ready for an increased role. Definitely ready for more opportunities and I'm ready to pounce on them."
