ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Keon Coleman helped fans forget all the hand-wringing that happened Thursday night after the Buffalo Bills traded down twice — and out of the first round completely — when a wide receiver was the expectation.
The former Florida State standout, and the No. 33 overall selection of the NFL draft, kept social media buzzing Saturday night following his introductory news conference at the team's headquarters.
First, he talked about the importance of buying winter coats out of season, which is no small thing when it comes to Western New York winters. He did play two seasons at Michigan State, so the transition from Florida will not come as a complete surprise.
"Look, $79, $89, nice little deal," he said of shopping at Macy's. "You can get the trench coat for, like, $100. I take it personally. I might go get some more colors. I need a blue one and another red one."
Someone then suggested that he might find a good deal around Thanksgiving. Coleman said that's not the case, at least in his experience.
"I shop like my mom," Coleman said. "I get my coats in the summertime. You got to shop a season or two before, just in case, and then it will be cheaper, because you go at Thanksgiving, everybody (shops) at Thanksgiving."
A little more than 12 minutes later, Coleman spotted a table of food to his left, which included cookies.
"Can I grab some of them?" he asked, before leaving the room with a cookie.
