Bills provide update on Terrel Bernard injury

The Bills middle linebacker and captain left with a pectoral injury in the first quarter and did not return to the game.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills' head coach Sean McDermott gave an update on the status of Terrel Bernard after he was injured in the game against the Miami Dolphins Thursday night.

The Bills middle linebacker and captain left with a pectoral injury in the first quarter and did not return to the game. McDermott said Bernard could be out for "multiple weeks".  They don't know at this time if he will be placed on the injured reserve list.

Despite losing Bernard, the Bills' trounced the Miami Dolphins Thursday night 31-10.

Bernard's injury comes after last week's forearm injury to nickel cornerback Taron Johnson and nearly a month after the Bills lost All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano "indefinitely" to a torn bicep.

McDermott also provided an update on Johnson's injury.  He said they're taking it one day at a time and hope that he is under the 4-weeks needed that would put him on injured reserve list.

Buffalo now has a hole at the linebacker position. In Thursday's win at Miami backup LBs Baylon Spector and Dorian Williams totaled 10 tackles each as the Bills look to replace the production from Bernard and Milano.

"Buffalo Joe" Andreesen was inactive in Thursday's game, but with starting linebacker injuries, he may get more opportunities on the field in upcoming weeks.
