Court docs: LeSean McCoy was trying to evict former girlfriend who is focus of Instagram post

Buffalo Bills' running back LeSean McCoy is responding to a social media post alleging abuse.

BUFFALO, NY - The Bills have released a statement regarding the allegations against running back LeSean McCoy which surfaced Tuesday.

“We have spoken to LeSean and have been in contact with the National Football League. We will continue to gather information," the team said.

McCoy denied allegations of domestic abuse that surfaced in an Instagram post on Tuesday morning.

The post also accused McCoy of using performance enhancing drugs.

A user, claiming to be the best friend of McCoy’s former girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, posted the image around 10 a.m. and also accused McCoy of child and animal abuse. Another person claiming to be a friend of Cordon's alleged on Facebook that McCoy had people pistol whip and rob Cordon.

A response was posted on McCoy's Twitter and Instagram accounts early Tuesday afternoon reading, "For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false. Further more, I have not had any direct contact with any of the people involved in months."

McCoy is a two-time first team All-Pro selection and has made the Pro Bowl six times, including the last two seasons with the Bills.

Court records from Georgia show that McCoy has been trying to evict Cordon, a model, from a home McCoy owns in Milton, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.

According to records, the eviction attempts started a year ago. Court papers filed in July 2017 show that McCoy was alleging that he and Cordon are "no longer in relationship" and McCoy had allowed her to "live rent-free while at premises for five months."

In court papers filed last month, an Atlanta attorney representing Cordon said the couple had been in a two-year relationship. The papers allege the two reconciled and were discussing marriage as recently as late May.

However, while Cordon was away from the home in early June, McCoy had friends and family remove her furnishings from the home, the papers allege. He also allegedly had the power turned off.

Cordon said in the papers that she was living in the home with her two children. Her attorney has alleged that the eviction notice was wrongly given to Cordon's 16-year-old son, and, thus, can't be enforced.

Atlanta attorney Jacoby Hudson, who is representing McCoy in the eviction, said Tuesday afternoon that he had spoken with McCoy, who adamantly denied the allegations. He said that McCoy told him he has been in Miami and not in the Georgia home for weeks. Hudson said that McCoy told him that he had surveillance cameras around the home, and Cordon had removed them.

Cordon's attorney in the eviction proceedings declined to comment.

The Democrat and Chronicle has reached out to the Buffalo Bills for comment. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated the league is currently reviewing the matter.

After spending his first six years with the Philadelphia Eagles, McCoy was acquired by the Bills via trade in 2015. McCoy has maintained his status as one of the elite tailbacks in the NFL during his tenure with the Bills as he’s rushed for over 3,300 yards and amassed 22 touchdowns on the ground in three seasons.

Last year McCoy became just the 30th player to top 10,000 yards rushing while leading the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 18 years.

McCoy has hosted two charity softball events in Rochester at Frontier Field in 2017 and 2015.

In September 2016 McCoy was sued for his part in a bar fight at a Philadelphia nightclub that left two off-duty police officers injured. The civil suit claimed McCoy beat and kicked one officer while he was on the ground and punched another officer in the eye.

At the time authorities said the brawl, which occurred in February, was over a misunderstanding of who had purchased a $350 bottle of champagne. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office declined to press criminal charges.

The Milton Police Department in Georgia issued this statement in a release:

On July 10, 2018 at approximately 3:18 A.M., Milton Police responded to a home invasion at a residence on Hickory Pass near the Cherokee County line. The preliminary investigation indicates that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident.

When officers arrived they found one victim who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder. During the altercation, the suspect demanded specific items from the victim. An adult female victim was treated and released at North Fulton Regional Hospital. A second adult female victim also sustained a minor injury during the incident.
