Here's a breakdown of the Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots game

FIRST QUARTER

BUF: Bills start the game with the short passing game and a 9-yard gain to LeSean McCoy.  McCoy tried to run outside on second down and lost four.  Bills go three and out to open the game.

NE: Penalties are again the Bills nemesis.  Offsetting calls negated a Bacarri Rambo interception, and a pass interference on Stephon Gilmore helped to keep New England's drive alive.  Having said that, the Bills were effective in getting pressure on Brady.  Stephen Gostkowski connected on a 35-yard FG to open the scoring.  3-0 NE with 7:29 left in the first quarter.

BUF: Bills moving the ball with a mix of pass and run, but another penalty (illegal formation) negates a first down run by Taylor.  Taylor incomplete on 3rd and 8.  Bills punt.

NE: Brady connected with Brandon LaFell for a gain of 27, but the Bills defense again pressures Brady into an incompletion on an ensuing 3rd and 9.  New England has to punt.

SECOND QUARTER

BUF: Bills put together an 11-play drive.  Taylor under threw Chris Hogan who was open left sideline for a would be TD.  Dan Carpenter connects on a 52-yard FG to tie things up 3-3.

NE: Bills defense confuses Tom Brady and forces three and out.

BUF: Bills offense can't generate anything either.  Taylor incomplete on a tough out pattern to Robert Woods on 3rd and 6.  Bills punt.

NE: Patriots lose another receiver to injury after Aaron Dobson made a terrific catch over the middle. Bills pressure continues to be effective against Brady.  Manny Lawson with a sack on 3rd and 6.  Patriots punt.

BUF: Tough sequence for Buffalo near the end of the half.  Tyrod Taylor had LeSean McCoy wide open for an apparent touchdown.  McCoy couldn't make the catch, and Devin McCourty got a hand in at the last second to force the incompletion.

NE: Brady leads a 62-yard drive in 33-seconds capped by a 20-yard TD pass to James White.  Patriots lead 10-3 at the Half.

THIRD QUARTER

NE: Missed  FG for New England after a crazy sequence where the officials blew an inadvertent whistle on what could have been an Amendola TD reception.  Rex Ryan called for sideline interference, but again, the Patriots weren't able to get points.

BUF: Buffalo responds.  LeSean McCoy with a 27-yard TD run upheld upon review.  Bills tie things up 10-10

NE: White punches it in for his second touchdown of the game after a long Brady to Amendola 41-yard completion that featured a horrible missed tackle by Buffalo's Duke Williams. 17-10 New England

BUF: Bills offense goes three and out.

NE: Patriots have a first down completion called back on a third down hold.  New England punt fumbled by Leodis McKelvin gives New England the ball at the Buffalo 30. Gostkowski connects on a 35-yard goal gives New England a 20-10 lead.

FOURTH QUARTER

BUF: Again forced to punt.

NE: Brady throws downfield.  Pass deflected and picked off by Stephon Gilmore.

BUF: Rex Ryan decides to punt on a 4th and 2 at the BUF 47 down 20-10 with just over 10:00 left.

NE:  Bills defense forces a punt.

BUF: Dan Carpenter 33-yard field goal good after a Sammy Watkins makes a one-handed catch for 15 yards and Tyrod Taylor completed a pass to Chris Hogan for 42 yards. Bills trailing New England 20-13.

NE: Bills defense forces a three and out

BUF: Time expires after 9 plays.

FINAL PATRIOTS: 20 BILLS: 13
