ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — This game was over by halftime.
The Bills scored touchdowns on their first five possessions, leading to a 47-10 rout of the Jaguars on Monday Night Football.
That scorching start was the first time this team has scored TDs on five straight drives since 9/18/2011.
It all started in the opening series of the game. The Bills marched down the field with no resistance from Jacksonville. James Cook capped a 10-play, 70-yard drive with a 6-yard rushing TD. The only hiccup (really of the entire night), was the first extra-point attempt blocked.
From there Josh Allen caught fire. He capped the second drive with a 6-yard strike to Dalton Kincaid after buying time and rolling to his right.
After a Jags field goal made it 13-3, Allen was back to work, dropping a perfect pass in the hands of Keon Coleman for a 24-yard TD. It was the first TD of Coleman's young career, making it a 20-3 Bills lead.
Jacksonville's next drive ended on a Trevor Lawrence overthrow that was caught by Damar Hamlin. That was the first career interception for Hamlin, with his Bills teammates collectively engulfing Hamlin in celebration.
That set up Allen to Khalil Shakir, who continued his great run after the catch ability, punctuating a 27-yard score that pushed the lead to 27-3.
The first-half onslaught finished off with a 16-yard TD toss from Allen to Ty Johnson, making it 34-3 at intermission.
Allen finished the game 23/30 for 263 yards and 4 TD passes. He added another 44 yards rushing on 6 attempts.
Ten players caught a pass in the game, led by Shakir with 6 catches for 72 yards and that TD.
The rest of the "Everybody eats" evening included Kincaid 3 receptions for 41 yards and a TD, Cook 4 receptions for 48 yards, Johnson 3 receptions for 28 yards and TD, Coleman 1 receptions for 24 yards and a TD, Curtis Samuel 3 receptions for 22 yards, Mack Hollins 1 catch for 16 yards, Marquez Valdes-Scantling 1 catch for 7 yards, Dawson Knox 1 catch for 7 yards, and Ray Davis 1 grab for 1 yard.
The Bills improve to 3-0 on the season.
They head back on the road next week to face the Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
