ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Bills are set to receive a huge boost to the defensive line.
Buffalo on Saturday activated defensive tackle DaQuan Jones from injured reserve. Jones had been on IR since tearing a pectoral muscle during the Bills' Week 5 loss to the Jaguars in London.
Jones is listed on the Bills injury report as questionable for Sunday's game, but the 32-year-old has been a full participant in practice this week and head coach Sean McDermott indicated Jones will suit up against the Patriots barring any sort of setback.
Before his injury, Jones had been playing at a high level through the Bills' first four games, registering 10 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Now he returns to play alongside Ed Oliver, who has 8.0 sacks on the season, to form a formidable duo in the interior of the Bills' defensive front.
Buffalo created the open spot on the 53-man roster for Jones by releasing offensive lineman Germain Ifedi on Thursday. Saturday, the Bills signed Ifedi to the practice squad and released defensive back Tre Norwood from the practice squad.
