BUFFALO, N.Y. — A handful of local high schools claimed Section VI basketball championships Friday night.
Over at Buffalo State, the Lancaster girls and Niagara Falls boys teams claimed sectional titles as did the Williamsville South boys. Meanwhile in Jamestown, the Pine Valley and Randolph boys teams also won sectional crowns.
Girls, Class AAA - Lancaster 72, Niagara Falls 43
Lancaster captures a sectional title for the third consecutive season after winning in 2022 and 2023.
Boys, Class AAA - Niagara Falls 73, Lancaster 43
The Wolverines win their seventh sectional title in the last nine years.
Boys, Class A1 - Williamsville South 76, Amherst 71
Billies take down the Tigers in a rematch of last year's sectional final.
Boys, Class C - Randolph 54, Westfield 48
The Cardinals continue their push to repeat as state champions after winning their first state title last year.
Boys, Class D - Pine Valley 30, Clymer 28
Pine Valley wins its sixth game in its past seven games to win the sectional title.
