BUFFALO, N.Y. — Adam Nunes made history Thursday night.

The South Park captain set a New York State single-game record with 593 rushing yards in a high school game.

Nunes did so on just 26 carries, an average of 22.8 yards per attempt.

He also scored seven rushing touchdowns, from distances of 80, 65, 36, 61, 81, 93, and 41 yards.

The previous New York State rushing record was 584 yards in one game by Sandy Creek's Joey Benedict in 2016.

Nunes now has racked up 864 rushing yards on 54 carries and 12 TDs this season for the Sparks.

He's been a playmaker on defense too, reeling in two interceptions.
