BUFFALO, N.Y. — C.J. Ogbonna ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as the University at Buffalo football team knocked off the Toledo Rockets 30-15 on Saturday afternoon at UB Stadium.
The Bulls (4-2, 2-0 Mid-American Conference), who had a bye last week, most recently lost 47-3 at Connecticut on Sept. 28. This game proved to be nothing like the last one, though.
Ogbonna completed 11 of 20 passes for 127 yards and a 2-yard touchdown pass to Jake Orlando. He also ran 14 times for 26 yards, which included touchdowns from 1 and 2 yards out.
The Buffalo defense did its job, too, holding the Rockets to 46 yards rushing on 25 carries. Toledo (4-2, 1-1) also committed the only turnover in a game where it outgained UB 418-364.
The Bulls' next game is a 3:30 p.m. home date next Saturday against Western Michigan.
