Niagara women and St. Bona men pick up wins, Canisius women and UB men lose

Niagara women's and St. Bonaventure men's basketball extended their win streaks on Tuesday night.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — NCAA Women: Niagara 65, Canisius 55

Junior Aaliyah Parker led Niagara past Canisius on Tuesday with 15 points in a 65-55 win over the Golden Griffins, giving the Purple Eagles their fourth victory in a row.

Following behind her sister on the night, Angel Parker put up 14 points to help put her team on top.

Niagara started the game with an 11-point lead, but Canisius fought back to within four points by halftime. 

The Purple Eagles would then hold on to close out their three-game road trip going undefeated in all three of their matchups.

Niagara returns home on Thursday as they face Saint Peters. Tip-off against the Peacocks is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Canisius is off until Saturday when they will also host Saint Peters. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

NCAA Men: St. Bonaventure 67, VCU 62

Backup Daryl Banks III led Saint Bonaventure past VCU on Tuesday night with 15 points in a 67-62 win snapping the Ram's five-game win streak.

Banks was 3 of 10 shooting, including 1 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 8 for 8 from the line for the Bonnies (13-7, 4-4 Atlantic 10 Conference).

Mika Adams-Woods added 13 points and had three steals. Chad Venning shot 4 of 11 from the field and 3 for 5 from the line to finish with 11 points, while adding eight rebounds and three blocks for the Bonnies.

Max Shulga led the Rams (13-8, 5-3) in scoring, finishing with 25 points. Joe Bamisile added 13 points for VCU. In addition, Zeb Jackson had 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals.

Saint Bonaventure's next game is Friday against Dayton on the road, and VCU hosts Richmond on Saturday.

NCAA Men: Ohio 91, Buffalo 70

AJ Clayton's 16 points helped Ohio defeat Buffalo 91-70 on Tuesday night.

Clayton was 6-of-11 shooting (2 for 5 from 3-point range) for the Bobcats (11-10, 5-4 Mid-American Conference). Shereef Mitchell added 15 points while shooting 6 for 14, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc, and he also had five rebounds. Ajay Sheldon shot 4 for 6 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line to finish with 15 points.

Sy Chatman led the Bulls (2-18, 1-7) in scoring, finishing with 22 points, four assists and two blocks. Jonnivius Smith added 15 points and 13 rebounds for Buffalo. Isaiah Adams also recorded 11 points. The Bulls extended their losing streak to seven straight.

UB will host Kent State on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. against the Golden Flashes.
