BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo women's basketball team now knows its path to the NCAA tournament.
The Mid-American Conference regular season is complete, and the conference tournament bracket is set. The Bulls will be the No. 4 seed and take on fifth-seeded Bowling Green in the quarterfinals.
The tournament starts Wednesday morning at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. The Bulls' quarterfinal matchup is expected to start some time around 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday's quarterfinals
- Game 1: No. 1 Toledo (25-4) vs. No. 8 Western Michigan (12-17), 11 a.m.
- Game 2: No. 4 Buffalo (17-12) vs. No. 5 Bowling Green (16-13), 30 minutes following previous game
- Game 3: No. 2 Ball State (27-4) vs. No. 7 Ohio (11-18), 30 minutes following previous game
- Game 4: No. 3 Kent State (18-10) vs. No. 6 Northern Illinois (15-15), 30 minutes previous game
Friday's semifinals
- Game 5: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 10 a.m.
- Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner, 30 minutes following previous game
Saturday's championship game
- Game 7: Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 winner, 11 a.m.
The UB men failed to qualify for the eight-team conference tournament, finishing 4-27 in the regular season and 2-16 in MAC play. There are 12 teams in the conference.
