BUFFALO, N.Y. — Five area teams played in a loaded Saturday college basketball action, with three teams earning victories, including two on the road.

NCAAW: Buffalo 67, Ohio 54

Up by six at the half, a 13-0 run in the third quarter powered the Bulls to a 13-point victory at home.

Freshman forward Alexis Davis put up a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Senior guard Chellia Watson continued her high scoring season with a team-high 21 points on the night.

UB now 8-6 in league play. The Bulls are tied for fourth in the MAC and are 15-10 overall.

NCAAW: Canisius 69, Quinnipiac 53

The Canisius women were on the road at Quinnipiac, but made themselves feel right at home in Hamden.

The Griffs built a 16-point lead in the first half and never looked back, picking up their fourth win out of the past six games.

Four Griffs scored in double figures with Sisi Eleko standing out after posting a 15-point, 16-rebound game.

The win moves Canisius to 10-7 in the MAAC and 15-11 overall.

NCAAW: Fairfield 95, Niagara 65

The Stags handed the Purple Eagles just their fifth loss of conference play, while Fairfield improved its perfect record in MAAC play to 16-0.

Niagara trailed by just five after the first quarter, before being outscored by 14 in the second quarter to give Fairfield a comfortable advantage at the break.

Aaliyah Parker led the way for the Purple Eagles with 21 points and six rebounds, along with three steals.

Niagara is now 15-12 overall and 12-5 in conference play.

NCAAM: St. Bonaventure 75, UMass 67

The Bonnies bounced back from a tough loss at La Salle to get back over .500 in league play.

After Massachusetts tied things up at 66 apiece with 3:32, St. Bonaventure closed the game on a 9-1 run, with a key Mika Adams-Woods three-pointer helping propel the Bonnies to the win in Amherst.

Adams-Woods finished with 14 points, one of four Bonnies in double figures along with Chad Venning, who delivered a team-high 16 points to go with 10 rebounds.

St. Bonaventure moves into a tie for fifth in the A-10 with UMass after the win. The Bonnies are now 8-7 in conference action and 17-10 overall.

NCAAM: Western Michigan 91, Buffalo 72

After defeating Eastern Michigan earlier in the week at home, UB couldn't keep the momentum going in Kalamazoo on Saturday.

A made three by Ryan Sabol halfway through the first pulled the Bulls within three at 23-20, but that was as close as they would get. The Broncos led by as many as 23 in the second half before securing the 91-72 win.

Buffalo guard Sy Chatman led all scorers with 23 points, while Western Michigan had three players score at least 17 points, with 44 points coming off the bench.

UB is now 4-23 overall and 2-12 in MAC play.
