Bills offense only manages 14 points in loss to Browns

Once again the Bills offense wasn't nearly good enough and it cost them. They're now averaging 19.3 points per game.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Once again the Bills offense wasn't nearly good enough after putting up just 14 points against the 2-6 (now 3-6) Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The defense accounted for the other two points with a safety.

Devin Singletary was not as involved as he was last week against the Redskins with just 8 carries for 42 yards and 3 catches for 8 yards.

Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll said that's because of what the Browns defense was doing in the second half.

"Running the ball was tough sledding. They did a good job in the second half, we just felt if they pack it in there's weaknesses in other areas."

Josh Allen threw for 266 yards and no passing touchdowns. He found the end zone twice with his feet and continues to struggle with deep balls. That's a concerning trend that kept going on Sunday. Allen is 0-16 on passes that travel 30 yards or more in the air this season.

The Bills average 19.3 points per game and struggled again to put up points against the Browns when the game came down to Stephen Hauschka making a 53-yard field goal to tie the game at 19. That did not happen. And he had already missed one from 34 yards earlier in the game.

McDermott said he considered going for it on fourth down but felt kicking the field goal gave them their best chance to win the game.

The Bills now look to bounce back against the Dolphins this Sunday in Miami.
