Bills look to keep momentum going for 8th win of the season

To get to 8 wins on the season this early would be huge for the Bills as far as the playoff picture goes and to give them a cushion given the tough schedule ahead.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New Era Field should have a playoff type atmosphere come Sunday.

That's because the Bills are in a great position and can put themselves in an even better one as far as the postseason picture goes with a win over the Broncos that will get them to 8-3 on the season.

But just like with the Browns, the Broncos are another team whose record doesn't necessarily match up with the level of talent on their roster.

Denver is 3-7 but the Broncos have been in a lot of games this season and even jumped out to early leads only to fall apart late in games.

Last weekend is a prime example of that. They let a 20-0 halftime lead over the Vikings on the road slip away for a 27-23 loss.

Quarterback Brandon Allen will make just his second road start for the Broncos in Orchard Park this weekend so it's a great opportunity for the Bills defense to have a dominant performance. They need to take advantage of his lack of experience and dial up the heat like they did in Miami.

The Bills defense has to make the Broncos one-dimensional. They did a great job of stopping the run last week only allowing 23 rushing yards against the Dolphins. They have to limit the production of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman to make the Broncos rely on Allen.

Offensively for the Bills a key is playing that fast, up-tempo pace like what we saw last week. It was huge for Josh Allen to have the monster game he did throwing for three touchdowns and running for one. It seems like it was a confidence booster that came at just the right time, and that momentum and pace should carry into this week.
