Chiefs vs. Bills Game Night

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT BUFFALO BILLS - Bills Stadium - Orchard Park

FIRST QUARTER

-The Bills go three and out on their first possession on three Josh Allen incompletions. 

-The Buffalo defense forces a stop on the Chiefs first series.  The  Chiefs moved the ball effectively on the ground with a pair of first downs before Mahomes threw incomplete on 3rd down. 

-The Bills move the ball much more effectively on their second drive going 38-yards in 11-plays.  Tyler Bass connected on a 48-yard FG to give Buffalo a 3-0 lead.  Allen missed on a pair of deep balls.  A flea flicker to John Brown was incomplete.  He also overthrew Stefon Diggs on a shot at the end zone. 

-Kansas City responds with a five-play 75-yard drive that featured a 31-yard run from Clyde Edwards-Helaire and was capped by an 11-yard TD strike from Mahomes to Travis Kelce.  Chiefs lead 7-3 with 3:05 left in the first quarter. 

SECOND QUARTER

-The Bills respond with a 13-play 75-yard drive capped by a 4-yard TD strike from Josh Allen to Stefon Diggs who made an incredible effort to get two feet down successfully.  Buffalo benefitted from a 24-yard pass interference call that set them up at the 4-yard line.   Bills lead 10-7 with 11:22 left in the half. 

-Kansas City puts together a 12-play 75-yard drive with major success running the football.  Mahomes capped the drive with a 12-yard TD to Kelce for their second TD hook-up of the night.  The Chiefs missed the PAT and lead 13-10 late in the quarter. 

-Kansas City comes up with a stop deflecting Josh Allen's pass at the line of scrimmage forcing a punt and starting a drive at their 10-yard line with 1:07 left in the quarter. 

-Travis Kelce fumbles with :06 left and Josh Norman recovers giving the Bills the ball at the 49-yard line. 

-Allen hit Diggs for a 15-yard completion seting up a 52-yard FG attempt from Tyler Bass that was well short.  Chiefs lead 13-10 at the half. 

THIRD QUARTER

-The Chiefs continue to run the ball effectively, but the Buffalo defense is able to force a punt and start their first drive of the half from their own 12-yard line.

-The Buffalo drive stalls at their own 30.   Josh Allen's pass over the middle to Cole Beasley is incomplete. 

-The Chiefs put together a 13-play 82-yard drive over 7:47.  Darrell Williams capped it with a 13-yard rushing TD with Kansas City taking a 20-10 lead with 1:18 left in the 3rd quarter.   As the 3rd quarter ended, the Chiefs had outrushed the Bills in terms of yardage 213-73. 

FOURTH QUARTER

-The Bills drive stalls on their own 29-yard line.  Josh Allen appeared to be stopped short on a sneak on 4th and 1.  The Bills were called for a false start and forced to punt.  Guard Cody Ford left the game with a leg injury on the play. 

-The Chiefs continue to run the ball effectively.  They march on a 10-play 75-yard drive that leads to a 37-yard FG and a 23-10 lead with 9:07 left in the game.  The drive featured undisciplined personal foul penalties on Bills CB Tre White and Safety Jordan Poyer. 

-The Bills respond with a six-play 75-yard drive that Josh Allen caps with an 8-yard TD to Cole Beasley.  That cuts the Kansas City lead to 23-17 with 6:34 left in the game. 

-The Chiefs benefit from a review on the ensuing drive when a Bills forced fumble and recovery was correctly overturned with the runner's knee ruled down before the ball came out.  Mahomes converts with a 37-yard completion on 3rd and 12.  The Chiefs add three more with a field goal and lead 26-17. 

-On the ensuing drive, Josh Allen is picked off by Daniel Sorenson. 

-The Chiefs are able to kneel and run out the clock. 

-Kansas City a winner 26-17.
