OLEAN, N.Y. — Canisius Golden Griffins women's basketball was on the road Thursday evening as they took on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
Guard Mackenzie Amalia led the way for Canisius with 20 points, going 7 of 15 on field goals and 4 of 7 on 3-pointers.
Teammate Sisi Eleko picked up 13 rebounds to help put the Golden Griffins over the Bonnies 63-56.
Both teams were even in points scored after the first and third quarters, but Canisius went on an 11-point run late in the second quarter to take a 33-22 lead and ultimately put themselves in a position to win.
St. Bonaventure put up 17 in the final quarter to Canisius' 13 but couldn't recover from the dominant offensive run by the Golden Griffins earlier on in the game.
Guard Isabellah Middleton had 20 points, leading the way for the Bonnies. She also had nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and a 100-percent free throw percentage.
