Post solar eclipse eye clinic at UB

BUFFALO, N.Y. — If you happened to catch a glimpse of the sun without your protective glasses, the University at Buffalo offered an eye check-up clinic on Monday post eclipse viewing.

The 2 On Your Side team stopped by the UBMD Ophthalmology Ross Eye Institute on Main Street before they wrapped up on  Monday night to find out what symptoms people should be on the lookout for.

"Solar retinopathy shows up as painless vision loss so they're gonna be left, we've all looked at a bright light too long and you get that kind of purplish green thing right in the center part of your vision, that's what it's gonna look like. It just doesn't clear it doesn't get better. So it's a big black spot right in the center of your vision. Loss of acuity but not pain," said Ophthalmology Professor.

Anyone who thinks they may have suffered from an eye injury during the eclipse is urged to seek out medical care.
