BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority said it will have busses running all day as normally scheduled with many stops to popular viewing areas like Sahlen Field and the Williamsville Space Lab planetarium.
The NFTA said if you are on a bus during the eclipse you can expect the driver to pull over and stop.
The agency also said that utilizing public transportation will make for a safer eclipse experience.
"If you either ya know stay home or you are a visitor and are visiting our area please get on the bus and go to those special events that they have with everyone else it kind of makes it fun. you don't want to be stuck in your car in traffic you can come on there with people and if there are not a lot of cars on the road if everybody's taking public transportation we can make it a much smoother ride," said Kelly Khatib, NFTA's Public Information Officer.
Also, if you're flying on April 8, plan to see extra staff at the airport.
Crowd control measures will be in effect with an expected increase in travelers.
The NFTA said it will light the runway when the path of totality passes through Western New York.
