Wind Advisory for parts of Western New York expires

The advisory was in effect for Erie, Chautauqua, Genesee, Niagara, and Orleans counties.

The Wind Advisory for parts of Western New York has expired.

The advisory went into effect Saturday night for Erie and Chautauqua counties and expired around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The advisory for Genesee, Niagara and Orleans counties also expired Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service warned people about windy conditions, saying wind gusts could get up to 50 mph. The strongest winds were during peak tailgating time and at the start of the Bills game on Sunday.

Drivers were also advised to take it slow. Unsecured objects were expected to blow around, and tree damage and power outages are a strong possibility.
