SYRACUSE, NY - We all know that people here love their Tim Horton's coffee. Many of you were shocked when news came out this week that the company shut down 16 restaurants in Central New York.
On Friday, a former franchise owner was talking about why the company shuttered several locations in places like Syracuse and Elmira.
The move caught so many by surprise that a couple who owned a store in Oneida went on the radio to talk about why corporate closed the stores. "They decided that at this point and time this wasn't where they wanted to put their effort," said one of the franchise owners.
The franchisees in Oneida say their business was growing but in the end the decision was up to their corporate office.
