DEPEW, NY - After 13 months of construction, the four-story Delevan Hotel and Spa opened its doors to customers on Friday.
The hotel greets people with a spacious lobby and a 40-foot high vaulted ceiling with a giant chandelier, surrounded by large windows. “The whole thing is trying to bring the outside in, and make it look very airy and open,” Joseph Salvatore, the hotel's proprietor, said.
The 47,000 square-foot boutique hotel has a modern elegance from the furniture to the building material, with 60 suites that have large bathrooms. Six bridal suites are available for weddings, and a spa will open this summer.
“Brides that are here can have their bridal party, get hair makeup on property, and not have to go anywhere else to do that,” Salvatore said.
The family business found a demand for a hotel that's connected to the restaurant for weddings, and corporate events. In the transition area from the hotel to the restaurant, customers will see a bar that's been redone.
The hotel is named after the family's original Salvatore’s Restaurant, opened by Joseph Salvatore's grandfather on Delavan Avenue in Buffalo.
There is also a fitness center on the top floor.
