BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two years after a mass shooting took the lives of 10 people in Buffalo, President Joe Biden honored the lives in a letter.
Ten Black people were killed in a racially-motivated mass shooting at the Tops Markets on Jefferson Avenue on May 14, 2022.
In a post on social media, the President said, "Jill and I join the people of Buffalo in honoring the memories of the 10 souls stolen from us in an unconscionable act of hatred against the Black community two years ago. I know how painful these anniversaries can be, and I want you to know you remain in my prayers."
The Bidens visited Buffalo after the shooting to meet with families who lost loved ones.
