Race for Niagara Falls mayor too close to call

The race is between incumbent Robert Restaino (DEM), Carlton L. Cain (REP), and Demetreus T. Nix (ALL).

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — It's Election Day in New York State and we have results on the race for the Mayor of Niagara Falls.

The race was between incumbent Robert Restaino (DEM), Carlton L. Cain (REP), and Demetreus T. Nix (ALL).

Restaino was hoping to gain reelection and he spoke after the polls closed but as of Tuesday night, it was too close call.

While the results are unofficial.  Restaino says they are very confident with the results and that he will be reelected.

He was elected in 2019.

Carlton Cain is a retired police officer and now GOP candidate, who has multiple complaints about his conduct.

Demetreus Nix is a self-proclaimed underdog and ex-con who served nine years in prison for manslaughter. Now he is a community activist who originally said his campaign was started as a joke, but since has amassed a following over the past few months.
