Preps underway for Music Is Art guitar auction

The guitars are signed by music legends like Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Garth Brooks, and Queen.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Workers and volunteers at Guitar Center are hard at work stringing guitars for the annual Music Is Art fundraiser this week.

The guitars are signed by music legends like Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Garth Brooks, and Queen.

The guitar fundraiser is this Thursday, August 22 at Chef's Restaurant.  They will be auctioned off to raise money for the Music Is Art Festival.

The big event, Music Is Art, will be held September 7th at Riverworks.  

The event is expanding this year, with more activities for festival-goers across the river in an abandoned agro-industrial building at the corner of Ganson and Michigan Streets.

The event will showcase over 800 musicians, dozens of DJs, dancers, art, food and more.   Admission is free to the festival.
