Western New York gun rights advocates vow to grow legal efforts

The group 2AWNY calls Cuomo's proposals unconstitutional and is launching an effort to fight state gun laws with a growing legal team.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Gun rights advocates in Western New York are taking issue with Governor Cuomo's state of the state proposals that deal with guns.

The proposals would ban out-of-state buyers who commit certain crimes in another state from getting a New York gun license. They would also ban buying gun parts online.

The group 2AWNY calls them unconstitutional and is promising a "Year of Defiance," launching an effort to fight state gun laws with a growing legal team.

"Aggressive lawsuits, jury nullification, expansion of local government autonomy, law enforcement discretion, and other noncompliance, nonenforcement and repeal tactics," Steve Felano of 2AWNY said.

They're also launching a state watchdog group to focus on instances where they say people have their free speech infringed on because of their support of the Second Amendment.
