ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — Earlier this month, Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation to reduce case backlog in family and civil court. This is adding 28 more judges to courts across the state.

Today, West Seneca Town Judge Jeffrey Harrington was unanimously endorsed by Democrats to join the Erie County Family Court.

“Through my work as a judge, and over 25 years in private practice handling abuse, neglect, custody, and delinquency cases within the Family Court arena, I believe I have the experience to make those tough decisions, fairly and according to the best interests of all involved," Harrington shared in a press release.

Harrington graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor's and law degrees, and in 2010 he was elected West Seneca Town Judge.

Erie County Democratic Chair Jeremy J. Zellner said, “Judge Harrington’s background perfectly suits him for the challenges of Family Court, and we are confident he will continue to bring distinction upon himself and the cause of justice.”
