IRVING AND SALAMANCA, N.Y. - Rickey Armstrong, Sr. has been elected the next President of the Seneca Nation in a landslide victory.
“The Seneca people have given me the tremendous honor and responsibility to lead our Nation forward,” said Armstrong, who lives on the Allegany Territory.
Armstrong defeated his opponent by 1,608 votes. A total of 1,829 votes were received from both the Allegany and Cattaraugus Territories.
Armstrong, who previously served as Seneca Nation President from 2002-2004 and has been a member of the Seneca Nation Council since 2014, will be officially sworn-in next week.
