Decision 2024: Early voting across WNY

Early voters have made it to the polls in Genesee, Allegany and Wyoming counties.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In Genesee County, election officials are seeing a lot of people voting early.

In Orleans County, early voting is at the Orleans County Board of Elections Office on State Route 31 in Albion. The hours Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 8:00p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. 

In Allegany County where there are 27,735 registered voters, the deputy elections commissioners are seeing an increase in volume for early voting.

In Cattaraugus County, there are two locations where you can vote early. 

The  Cattaraugus County Board of Elections, on Rock City Street in Little Valley and on the JCC Olean Campus, the Cutco Building on North Barry Street  in Olean are open for early voting. The hours are Thursday and Friday from 8a.m. to 4p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9a.m. to 5p.m.

In Wyoming County, there is only one location available for early voting and over 26,000 voters have shown up so far.  

"We have 16 towns, 26,000 voters, one location here in Wyoming County, the board of elections and it's been super busy," said James Schlick, the republican Wyoming County Board of Elections. "They're excited with all the news, 24 hours a day and seven days a week and they want to get out and vote, the weather is great so that's good.
