David DiPietro will be on the GOP line for the 147th District Assembly, Susan Howard will be the next Orleans County District Attorney after Tuesday's Primaries

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tuesday's Decision 2024 Primary in New York gave voters a clearer vision of November's General Election ballot.

Rep. Claudia Tenney will be on the Republican and Conservative lines in November after defeating challenger Mario Fratto in the 24th District Congressional Race. Tenney led Fratto, a businessman from Geneva, by 60% to 40% as of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Associated Press projected her as the winner in the election.

Tenney will square off against Democratic businessman and attorney David Wagenhauser in November's election. The 12-county district includes Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming Counties in Western New York, Tenney lives in Oswego County, while Wagenhauser lives in Seneca County.

In the only New York State Assembly Race in Western New York, incumbent Republican David DiPietro secured the GOP line in November's ballot, overwhelmingly defeating Mitch Morris. DiPietro received 82% of the vote over the Chief of the Erie County Sheriff's Office Reserve Division.

DiPietro faces a reelection vote against mental health professional and Democrat Dr. Marci Cramer in November. The district covers parts of Erie and Wyoming Counties.

For the first time since 1992, Orleans County will have a new District Attorney. Current First Assistant District Attorney Susan Howard defeated attorney Jon Sansone.  Howard won with 66% of the vote in on Tuesday night. She previously secured the Conservative line, and there is no Democrat running for the post in November.

Howard will replace Joseph Cordone who is retiring after more than 30 years in office.
