BUFFALO, N.Y.- A new traffic signal will be activated on NY Route 5 in Hamburg on Thursday, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.
The new signal will be on flashing mode at Lake Erie Boulevard between Hoover Road and Bayview Road. On June 30, the signal will be fully activated.
The NYSDOT advises drivers to use caution when approaching the new signal as traffic adjusts to its new pattern. The department also warns drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of one's driver's license.
