"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my loved ones, the members of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, other County employees, fellow Sheriffs and an overwhelmingly compassionate community for the outpouring of support and kindness since Tuesday. I am particularly indebted to the two gentlemen, who likewise were working and unsuspecting of how life changes and unfolds in a matter of seconds. Their quick actions without regard to their safety undoubtedly altered the outcome and were nothing short of heroic. I am also grateful to the New York State Trooper who likewise entered this harrowing incident and assisted getting Lynn Hall into custody.
I am very fortunate to live and work in such a kind and caring community and to have such support from loved ones, family, friends and peers that have made this incident easier to endure. I am recovering well and have returned to work. As this is an active criminal investigation, I will not be discussing the specifics of this incident; please do not mistake this purposeful silence as a lack of appreciation. I will forever be grateful."
