ELLICOTT, N.Y. — A Chautauqua County woman died Thursday following a crash that involved two cars.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at State Route 394 and Water Street in the Town of Ellicott. New York State Police said 95-year-old Virginia L. Maloy of Sinclairville was declared dead at the scene.
State Police said Maloy was a passenger in a 2010 Toyota, heading north on State Route 394. The driver "stopped at a stop sign, then pulled into the path" of a 2015 Nissan Sentra at the intersection.
Both drivers were taken to UPMC Chautauqua for further evaluation.
An investigation is ongoing, State Police said Friday in a news release.
