BUFFALO, NY-- On Saturday, students and supporters from around the county will go to Washington, DC
to take part in the March for our Lives, to rally for safer schools and more gun control.
The Western New York Peace Center is one of the groups sending people to DC. They received money from Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown to send a bus filled with more than 50 people to the event.
The WNY Peace Center will also be holding an event here WNY to coincide with the march. It will be held at Saturday, March 24 at Niagara Square. The program begins at 1:30pm.
Last week, hundreds of WNY students participated in National School Walkout Day. They were protesting gun violence and paid respect to the 17 students and staff who lost their lives in the Parkland, Florida school shooting.
